Heather says:
If you haven’t menu planned your Memorial Day weekend already, here are some suggestions for cookouts and picnics.
Let’s start with main dishes and then move on to sides. Shall we?
(Just click the pics to head to the recipe!)
Safety Reminder:
Don’t forget to use common sense and keep food out of the bacterial danger zone, keep cold foods at or below 40F and hot foods should be held at 140F. Discard food that isn’t shelf stable that has been held between those temperatures for more than two hours. Also beware of cross contamination, if chicken was marinated, do NOT use the the same marinade to brush it just before it comes off the grill. Divide the sauce before marinating or mix up a new batch.
Cookouts and picnics are a great kickoff to summer, but please don’t forget the reason we have this long weekend. Memorial Day is a time to remember all of those who died in service to our country. Take some time to honor their memory and comfort those they left behind.
Have a wonderful weekend!
PS Posting will resume on Tuesday.
PPS I have a neat little tidbit to share.

I'm definitely embarrassed by some of my older stuff. I've been trying to go back through and put in better pics, but good night that takes a lot of effort.
