I am a regular user of Charlie's soap powder for washing my clothing. My problem clothes used to be my gym clothes that would develop a odor to them after a couple of months and then I used to throw them away and buy new ones. Switching to Charlie's soap powder eliminated that problem but I was still left with some residue. I have very hard water in San Diego, as I get calcium build up on my shower heads, sink, and definitely on the washer. After a few uses of this hard water formulation, all of the residue has washed away.

My only issue with Charlie's is that they switched from the canvas bags for the soap to the plastic tubs. I could reuse those bags for small items, but now I have another plastic tub that isn't good for the environment.

We have VERY hard water, the worst! My diapers were sooooo funky that my son was getting rashes. We've been CD'ing for 8 years and this is the best detergent we've found! There is no need to do an extra rinse with this product and my sons diapers are cleaner than ever before. This product has definitely saved our diaper stash and our washer!

I ordered the booster to use with my Charlie's Soap. My water is on the hard side but hasn't caused any problems with the CS. I was having problems with stains not coming out of mmy kids clothes. Adding a 1/2 scoop of the booster has worked wonders.

I am now successful using two scoops each of Charlie's soap and "booster" per full load (3/4 full dry clothing). I started with label recommended 1/2 TB, then 1TB per load and had stains and odors remain in first few loads after doing the "first time users" load. I resorted to rewashing with regular detergent, Oxi booster and then used high heat antibacterial dryer cycle. :( There is no mention of what constitutes a large load on labels. My agitator washer 28 years ago was "extra large" capacity. I have since upgraded twice, each time buying larger capacity machines. I use an LG Waveforce 4.7 cu ft capacity-no agitator. I will upgrade rating when Charlie's Soap changes labeling to reflect a real number (based on cubic feet). There is no such thing as "standard size load" when quantifying load size since machine capacities vary tremendously!

We live in an area with SEVERE hard water. When we moved into our current home, the household appliances were almost unusable because of damage sustained from hard water build-up. After running multiple cycles with plain water and Lemi Shine through our washing machine, I purchased Charlie's Soap and Charlie's Laundry Booster & Hard Water Treatment to start over from scratch. I was expecting miracles from this product, and it did not deliver. I haven't noticed any improvement whatsoever in the quality of the water. Our laundry feels stiff and dirty. Everyday stains (like those on kitchen towels) do not come out and, more importantly, our clothes just don't feel clean. It may work for those with moderately hard water, but it definitely does not work for us, and we will not purchase this product again. However, I do appreciate that this company is promoting all-natural, safe products. Wish it had worked for us!

This product did everything I wanted it to...we have very rusty, hard water and my wash always came out dingy. The whites were so bad that I would take them to a laundromat that had treated water so they wouldn't look "pinkish" and splotchy. It's really great that I won't be doing that anymore! The first load that I used Charlie's Soap Booster on came out so white that I was amazed. I was concerned that the granules wouldn't dissolve in cold water, but they did with no problem. The brights even look brighter - this was a real find that solved a pesky problem that had been bugging me for years.

I use the soap to wash my baby's cloth diapers and it gets the smell out for the most part. They don't smell as "raw" as when I was using RG. We have hard water where we are so I guess the booster helps in comparison to RG.
