It’s time once again to play every family’s favorite game, Locate the Dining Room Table. If you have fallen into the habit of using your table as a dumping ground or project center, today is the day to clear it off. I know Thanksgiving is nearly a month away, but in some cases this may be a large project.

If you will need to utilize extensions or leaves for your table, dig them out and give them a quick polish. No one wants confused spiders dropping in their lap during dinner.

How is your seating situation? Do you have enough chairs for all of your guests? If not, consider calling a rental company and reserving chairs. These can usually be found for a very reasonable cost and take all of the worry about unreliable Uncle Ed forgetting to bring the folding set he promised. Don’t procrastinate and call the night before expecting availability. You’ve been warned.

  1. OMG, can you see my table? I feel like you are talking directly to me! I have the in laws coming in about 20 days and my table top can not even be seen!! It’s scary in there! At least I already have the one leave already in place so maybe I am a step ahead?

  2. My dining room table serves as a mail landing zone and a quilt assembly zone. We try to clean it off once a week just to make sure we don’t lose something but I’ll have to find temporary homes for some of my craft projects while the in laws are in town.

  3. um, i’m behind a few days already, but i think i’ll play find the table on thanksgiving day while the children are with their dad, and i’ll have to find all the chairs as well………there’s one in the computer room, 2 in the basement, one in the bathroom, and i think one on the back porch – lol
