Heather says:
Here we are, another week nearly gone, and school, for us anyhow, starts on Monday. I’m more than a little excited. This has been a long summer, and I’m ready for some structure to be added to the chaos that is my work-life dance. (Anyone who dares call it a balance is going to get a full-on side eye.) Thanks, Amy.

Sure there will be a lot more driving, but hello, that’s exactly why Spotify and Stitcher were invented. Speaking of, if you’re on Spotify, I’m always looking for new music, despite my penchant for 90s alternative. Follow Heather Solos on Spotify and I’ll take a peek at your playlists and I promise not to poke fun if you don’t.
I’m learning a new balance of menu planning and cooking and that’s interesting, too. This brings up the fact that I have a stack of cookbooks to review.
Sometimes I fail to read the fine print. I was initially intrigued when I received an email about Matthew Kenney’s Everyday Raw Gourmet. I was interested in maybe seeing some new techniques and some different ingredient combinations, but I apparently read right over the word “vegan.” Vegan is a lifestyle choice and it simply isn’t mine. This is not a criticism of the cookbook by any means, I’m simply not the target audience.
If you would like a chance to win this beautifully photographed copy of the Everyday Raw Gourmet, leave a comment before Sunday August 18, 2013 at 9pm Eastern. Monday morning, bright and early, I’ll select a comment, at random. I will announce the winner in Monday morning’s post and contact the commenter via email. No purchase required, must be a resident of the US as I’m handling shipping and I love all of you, but the US post office doesn’t.

I’m not vegan, but I love to incorporate lots of raw. This books looks gorgeous. Thanks for the opportunity.
We are learning to eat raw and would love to have a copy of this book!
My daughter is vegan. We would love to have this book!
We’d love some new recipes for our garden veggies 🙂
I have been vegetarian for a long time, but I have come to a point where I can say Vegan and Variety together without feeling Vegan is always taking something away. Sometimes the option can be a favorite.
I am also not vegan but love new ideas for fresh local veggies.
I love that you included Jessica’s side stare.
I would love to win! Thanks for the chance!!
I like my food raw … and wriggling. 🙂
I like to include raw veggies in my meals and would really love to win the book to learn new techniques and combinations.
Like you, I’m not vegan, but lately I have been trying to eat my whole foods. And I’m always happy to have any sort of cookbook, of sorts. 🙂
I, too, am not vegan but I’m always looking for new ideas, especially so I have a selection for when vegan and vegetarian friends visit instead of relying on the same few choices.
We eat vegetarian about half the time… it’s easy enough to toss cheese on a vegan meal to make it a little more my style.
There is a recipe in this book called Empanada’s with Spinach which I have tried and loved. I’d love to win my own copy of this book!
As someone who keeps kosher, vegan recipes are great because I can serve them with anything. Raw is even better because I’m lazy!
Love the giveaway!
