Even good cooks screw up. Tonight I went to throw dinner together and after adding the noodles to the water turned the burner off.
Nice.
It was edible, but only just so. I’m not salvaging the leftovers, judge if you must.
What I want know, so I don’t feel goofy all by my lonesome is what was your most recent flub?
PS I am aware this is a short-changed post. I’ll get back to the normal routine Monday or so. Can you be jet lagged without leaving your timezone?

I've been staying out of stores (for a while now, apparently) to avoid temptation. I did not know such a beast existed. Neat! How does the popcorn turn out? Almost as good as stove top?
I made myself an omelet for breakfast the other day, left for work and left the burner on with the pan on the burner. Totally ruined the pan and the burner burned all day until the housekeeper came at 2:30pm.
I'm so glad only the pan was ruined.
I'm so glad the pan was the only thing ruined.
Left the lid off the microwave popcorn popper. That was more hilarious than disastrous.
My husband wanted "fast food" the other night, but I don't eat it. So I convinced him we should eat at home and I would make burgers (out of quality hamburger (if there is such a thing)). Anyway, I way over-cooked them and they were chewy.
My recent post Thank You for Voting!
P.S. Don't feel bad about ditching the left-overs. I've done it a few times myself. Especially when I try a new recipe that isn't a hit with the family.

test?
Hurray! It has been fixed. Thank you!
I had a much bigger flub. I put a roast in the crock pot, but forgot to turn it on. Came home 8 hours later and wondered why I couldn't smell dinner. Very disappointing.
Tap, tap. Is this thing on?
Love the site!
I wasn't able to think of one yesterday at all, so I went and did something JUST NOW.
Tore open a packet of Sweet 'n Low to put in my husband's iced tea, and proceeded to sprinkle it on the bowl of shredded cheese on the counter, rather than the pitcher next to it.
Lovely. At least I noticed what I was doing halfway thru the packet.
I quickly dumped the cheese into a colander and rinsed it off with cold water. Should still be okay on top of the casserole. I hope.
Oh man, that just stinks. I frequently forget to turn on the coffee pot or steamer. :/ Such an annoying habit.
I tried to make a homemade pizza yesterday, but I failed. Finally, I called Pizza Hut before my husband and kids noticed what had happened.
I have had mutiple flubs in the kitchen!! Improvised spaghetti sauce, as well as Pizza sauce, the less is better(but I added too much stuff) beef in a pressure cooker, Ham in a crock pot that went WAY too long. In my defense, how are you supposed to know what your famly likes if you don't at least try the flubs. At least we haven't ever had to throw the whole thing away, and then go out to eat because every one is starving!!! I fifgure when my kids are older they might actually MISS my cooking! Ha Ha!!!
Hmm… I guess I forgot the salt. That wouldn't be so bad except that I do it a lot. Okay, not as much as I did when I was married 4 years ago, but still more than the average cook, if my mom was average. 🙂
I had a fatbacked piece of lamb that I had marinated for two days and was already very tender and I was going to grill it for gyros. The regulator on my gas grill blew out while I had gone inside to get away from the mosquitoes and five minutes later, I had a blowtorch on my patio. Even after disconnecting the gas bottle, the grill continued to burn for nearly an hour as the entire piece of lamb had caught on fire.
Not adding enough rice to thicken my cream of broccoli soup. A very thin "cream" indeed.
I have had issues with oversalting recently. Not really sure what my issue is, but it really doesn't lend itself to a delicious dinner 🙂
