Ivy says:
It’s been a great two weeks with the Kraft and Sam’s Club Two Week Meal Planner! I’d like to thank Kraft and Sam’s Club for giving me this opportunity. I was glad to not have to do much thought on meal planning for a couple of weeks, and my family had a good time trying out the recipes and rating them.
There’s a giveaway at the end of this post, so stay with me here while I talk about the other recipes we tried.
The next recipes we tried were generally a much bigger hit with the family.
Weeknight Taco Salad
This was the biggest hit with the family by far, and this will definitely be added to our family recipe box. Everyone enjoyed being able to fill their own shell with the things they liked, and we had fun making the shells. I had no idea you could make one as easily as you can! Be sure to check the recipe, it was easy peasy.
BBQ Toasted Patty Melts
These were also well received by the family. My family loves a tasty burger, and these patty melts hit the spot. I must admit, as non-proficient cook as I am, I burned the crap out of the onions and we had to leave them off. Watch your onions carefully, kids!
Cheesy Salsa Mini Meatloaves
This had split reviews. I don’t really care for meatloaf. This was no different. My 8 year old liked it, my 5 year old really liked it, Mr. Ivy liked it, and my teenager, like me, didn’t care for it. It was really easy to make, so that did gain some points with me.
Creamy Home-Style Tuna Melts
Everyone liked these pretty well. I really thought they were very tasty, as did my teenager and my 8 year old. Mr. Ivy wasn’t home, and my 5 year old thought they were “just okay.” They were really quick to make, and my teenager helped me with the chopping, so it helped me to work on his cooking skills as well.
Italian-Style Chicken Roll-Ups
Here was one that nobody really liked. Theoretically, the cream cheese filling should have been good, but along with the spaghetti sauce, and the chicken, which turned out dry, it was just not good. It was edible, but it’s not anything we’ll be making again.
Di Giorno Pizza With BLT Topping
We made two pizzas, one for the kids as cheese only, and one for us with the BLT topping. Unsurprisingly, the kids loved the pizza, haha. We thought the BLT topping was okay, but we thought it was a bit more work than really necessary for something that’s supposed to be really easy like pizza night. That’s right, we’re supremely lazy, haha.
Quick Pasta Carbonara
We all thought this was pretty good. It really is quick, and I think for nights where you just need to make something quickly before heading out, it’s perfect for that. How can you lose, with bacon, really?
Easy Cheesy Barbecued Sloppy Joes
Yum. Sloppy Joes. How can you beat them? They’re easy to make and messy to clean up. We all loved the sloppy Joes, especially my (very messy) five year old.
Crispy Santa Fe Chicken
This is what we meant to make last night, but ended up having dinner with my mom at her house instead. I’ll come back and update this one, because I’m interested to see what it will be like.

I’ve been doing this two week thing, too. So far, I really like the tuna noodle casserole, but I’m also looking forward to the Pasta Carbonara. Tonight is the Santa Fe Chicken.
Hugs,
Melinda
The BLT pizza sounds really yummy. I have always been a fan of taco pizza, but my husband’s dislike of seasoned meat means we never have it. He probably wouldn’t argue too much about bacon on a pizza (just the tomatoes).
I’m already hunting down the way to make the taco shells for taco salad night! So yum.

I tweeted about it!
What an awesome giveaway! It has been so interesting to read you and your families reviews of these dinners! I think the pasta carbonara sounds wonderful and will be trying that with my husband next week. Also, that tuna casserole dish is VERY close to my granma’s recipe for tuna casserole, so I will be giving that one a try also (it doesn’t use the canned cream of chicken soup, like my granma’s does, which would be much better for me) 🙂 Thanks for the update!
I love carbonara, but I’ve always been intimidated to try it at home; the Pasta Carbonara recipe seems *way* easy and indeed…how *can* one go wrong with bacon?? 😀
Sounds great.
Sign me up.
Cheesy salsa meatloaves sounds yummy.
The Taco Salad! I love Mexican, and this could easily be made with black beans instead of ground beef for a cheaper vegetarian alternative. If i’d known Taco shells were that easy I wouldn’t have been buying them all these years!
Mmmm Mmmm BBQ Toasted Patty Melts sound wonderful to me!
Weeknight taco salad looks good!
I tweeted it too.

I think the Pasta Carbonara sounds the best. Who doesn’t like Pasta? And bacon? mmmmmm bacon….

I love the Pasta Carbonara idea. I’ve re-introduced pasta to my diet after a long break. I need the carbs…I’m riding 50 miles at a time almost every time I go for a bike ride.
I’m all over some carbonara. 🙂
I would go with the Creamy Home-Style Tuna Melts, but I would make it with tofu instead of tuna since I am a vegetarian.
The pasta sounds delish, and I think everyone would enjoy the taco salad. I just got back from shopping for Sam’s, I think I accomplished a month’s worth of meals and snacks. hahaha
Hubs _loves_ pasta carbonera, so we would definitely try that one (especially if it’s really that easy!), although several others look tasty as well!
The taco salad looks pretty good, and I could really go for some pasta carbonara right now. Yeah, time for #bacontrack.
I would have to go with the weeknight Taco Salad and that would be a win with my family.
I LOVE Tacos, so that is going to be my favorite, no contest.
Actually, the Crispy Santa Fe Chicken sounds the most interesting to me. I will keep an eye out for your review of it.
I think the taco salad sounds divine. I love mexican style food because it’s so economical and my kids devour it with a quickness!
The mini meatloaves look good, as does the taco salad. My family is having taco salad tomorrow night, I may just have to make some bowls for it and impress my husband!
I like the idea of BBQ Toasted Patty Melts, I love bbq! Great giveaway – we’ve let our Sam’s membership expire so this would definitely be helpful! 🙂
tweeted! 🙂 http://twitter.com/cjw518/status/2567675165
I was thankful to just find out how to make taco shell bowls that easily! so – the next thing I’ll be making is the Weeknight Taco Salad-
I have the recipe booklet and have tried the easy carbonara. It IS easy and the taste is very close to my old-fashioned carbonara recipe. I am looking forward to trying the mini cheesy meatloaves too!
All of the recipes sound good but the BBQ Toasted Patty Melts look good to me, although my family would prefer one of the Mexican entrees.
loved the taco salad!
enter me to win!
Out of all the two-weeks’ worth of recipes, the Velveeta Tuna Noodle Casserole looks the best to me. Plus, it includes a lot that you need from the food groups: protein, dairy, vegetables, and whole wheat, if you use whole wheat pasta! I can’t wait to try it!
Actually, none of these really sounded good to ME as I’m a vegetarian, haha…but I guess I could do modifications on some.
I love sloppy Joes. I usually just use hamburger meat and a can of sloppy joe mix. I am excited to try something a little different.
Thanks!
These all sound like things my kids would like. I’m going to try this plan next week.
The weeknight taco salad looks so good!
The south of the border chicken and pasta skillet looks so yummy and easy, not to mention there doesn’t seem to be a lot of prep work!
The: quick pasta carbonara, sounds the best to me and we will most probably have it this weekend 🙂
Blogged it! We had the quick pasta carbonara, WOW was it delish! loved it and so did the kids and best of all so did Dh, whos the hardest to impress!

Taco Salad!! 🙂
Those tuna melts sound fast, easy and wholesome! Thanks for the ideas!
I’ve been on a diet for a year and holding firm until this summer where the lbs are starting to creep back. I decided I’d try the tomato pie with toasted 40 calorie bread instead of pie crust, to save some calories (and make myself feel like I was dieting). For this recipe to work you MUST take out the seeds and let it drain (just save the juice for your spaghetti sauce or other dish) or you’ll have a mushy crust. Recipe is so versatile. You can add anything, like jalapenos or olives, too.
(sam’s Club)Went to this site and downloaded all the recipes, I am with you on the weekly taco salad night, its easy and kids love to make their own. Makes them feel like they actually helped with the meal, Thank you for the info!!
I’d love to try the Cheesy Fiesta Pasta Bake. Thanks!
