Where do you get those glasses?

Heather says:

I find seeing to be rather important. One of the downsides of my new job with FeedBlitz is that I’m sitting in front of a computer screen 40ish hours a week + whatever time I read or work on Home Ec 101 things.

The downside to that?

Eyestrain.

The cure? Rest your eyes? Hello? Have we not met, I’m a geek, when I’m not writing, I’m reading, when I’m not reading I’m sleeping. Take one away and you’re going to have a very grouchy Heather.

I have very mild astigmatism, which means I generally get by just fine without my glasses. That is until I sit in front of the computer for days on end and then I end up with crazy eye. Seriously, my right eye gets tired and decides to do whatever the heck it wants. It freaked me out until  realized it was just eyestrain and started to remember to put my glasses on when I work.

You all know by now that I have kids and my daughter just loves to swipe my glasses and pretend she’s running downhill. I guess the fix for my eyes is highly entertaining. Sometimes she hides them rather well. I need a spare pair for my car and for my desk.

squintsI’m ordering myself two extra pairs of glasses today and thought I’d share my secret to cheap, yet cute -IMO, you’re free to call me a dork behind my back- eye-wear.  Seriously, including anti-glare coating and standard shipping these glasses are $22.85. Sure I pay for my own exam every couple of years, but once they give me my prescription, I go to ZenniOptical, well as soon as my eyes are done with those crappy dilating drops.

Since I’ve used them for years, I’ve added them to the list of sites I’m an affiliate for.

What does that mean? It means if you click the banner ad below I’ll get 8% of the sale. You pay the same price you would, if you had gone through the site.

It’s just a different form of compensation for advertisement. Use it or don’t, there’s no pressure.

  1. Love Zenni! Been using them for about 2 years now? Ever since someone named Heather told me about them while we were at lunch. Tried them out first as a second spare pair of glasses, but now I use them for my main glasses too. As long as you have a good prescription and know the sizing, they are a real bargain.

Folks still need to remember to get an eye exam regularly, as things do change. And get someone, hopefully someone trained, to measure the pupil distance. I have gotten bi-focal, tinted lenses, and regular lenses from them over the past couple of years. All were exactly as ordered.
