Every Thursday a group of women invade my home. We divide and rotate snack duties to keep the expense and effort minimized while providing maximum snacky goodness for all who attend. Yesterday my friend Krystal introduced me to my newest vice – popcorn snack mix, you see I’m a sucker for combinations of salty and sweet. Wielding a spatula, I threatened, asked very nicely for her recipe. It’s a mistake anyone could have made, after all I wasn’t being polite and my words were muffled by pretzel sticks and mini Oreos.

I'm a sucker for combinations of salty and sweet and this popcorn snack mix hits the spot.

Recipe for Popcorn Snack Mix

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups popped popcorn
  • 2 cups mini Oreos
  • 2 cups thin pretzel sticks
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1 1/2 cups raisins
  • 1 1/2 cups dried pineapple
  • scant 1/2 cup sugar (scant just means just barely 1/2 cup)
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 TBSP melted butter

In a gigantic bowl add the popcorn, cookies, pretzels, walnuts, pineapple, and raisins.

Drizzle the popcorn mixture with the melted butter, sprinkle with the cinnamon and sugar, and toss gently to coat.

Hide the leftovers from yourself in an airtight container.

Enjoy!

  1. This looks fab. I can’t wait to try it and wow my friends. Well, friend and family. I’m so glad you threatened this out of your friend and shared with all of us.

  2. I made this tonight for our family’s game night (We’re teaching the boys Texas Hold’Em…..but we only play for chips, not actual money).

It was a huge hit! I skipped the walnuts and pineapple (allergies) but is was still quite Yummy!

    Thanks for the recipe……

  3. Jen, you cracked me up, thanks 🙂
Becca, I’m glad your family liked it. I can see it being extremely tweakable. I didn’t have the walnuts, pineapple, or oreos on hand and threw in marshmallows and the kids still acted like it was manna from Heaven.
